The District
The West Don lands are a sustainable mixed-use development coming to Toronto’s east end, and Avison Young was invited to pitch for the office and retail components. The team recommended a mass-timber office building, the primary feature of which is sustainability and natural exposed wood interiors along with a new name, “The District”. A printed book was designed for the pitch full of fictional narratives of the future inhabitants of the area accompanied by vibrant photography of the surrounding neighbourhood, thereby conveying the vision for the building.
